We benefitted from financial support through

The National Lottery Community Fund: Awards for All

to manage increased cleaning costs incurred since the 

pandemic. We are very grateful. This support sustained 

the charity through the most challenging of times.

 

 

Maintaining a clean and safe building has always been a priority, but during the recent pandemic it has been of the highest importance. Our members can be confident that our training, policy and procedures are reviewed on a regular basis. The pandemic has been a standing agenda item for the senior management team.

In response we Increased the level of training to include: 

Covid Specific:

-Social Distancing - Covid-19

-Working in a Covid World

-Hand Hygiene For Care

Infection control

-Developed stringent  procedures for PPE etc

-Painted activity rooms.

-Washed/replaced soft covers.

-Deep cleaned the building and had an antibacterial coating on all hard surfaces.

-Developed systems, such as the patch system. 

-Moved our building-based activities to the internet to be accessed at home

-During periods of absence offered alternative services, in the home or to shop, fetch

prescriptions etc.

-Increased the regularity and level of cleaning.

-Kept constant and regular contact with our families

These measures prevented as far as possible our staff and members. As far as we can assess,

any infection cane form the community. Despite the reduction of hospital admissions from

COVID we continue with the extra cleaning and use of PPE. This is constantly under review and

we assess on an ongoing basis to keep our members and team safe.
