Meet Richard (Roo)

Roo is a popular member at days. There are many activities he enjoys, such as visual effects, music (especially heavy rock).  He needs help with every aspect of his life and communicates with vocalisations. We know when he is happy or sad. He enjoys a bespoke service of both domiciliary care and our building based service. This wrap around  solution means we can give Roo the consistency he needs to keep well,  safe and happy.

His day starts at 7:30 when two of our team go to his home to get him ready for his day. Roo needs two people because of his delicate physicality. We then use our specialist transport system to travel to Days. Where we provide a range of specialist activities to support his emotional well-being.

He particularly likes getting out of his wheelchair to lie under a special umbrella where we project light effects. Combining this with music we can reach Roo and support his emotional well-being. During the day we manage his tube feed which provides him all the sustenance he needs. We take him home about 4:00 o'clock to spend some time with his family. the team return about 7:00 pm to give him a bath and get him ready for bed.
